Five Members of Trump’s Legal Team Leave 9 Days Before Impeachment Trial
What Happened:
On Saturday evening, Trump spokesman Jason Miller announced that two lawyers from Trump’s legal team have left just 9 days before Trump’s second impeachment trial.
Attorney Butch Bowers, who was expected to be lead attorney, and Deborah Barbier have both left the team.
No reason was given thus far, but one of Trump’s advisers said the decision was mutual.
UPDATE: According to sources, three more attorneys have left the team as well: Josh Howard, Johnny Gasser and Greg Harris. Reportedly, the departures are due to a disagreement over legal strategy in the case.
