Two Suicide Bombings in Baghdad Result in 28 Dead
On Thursday, two suicide bombings struck Iraq's capital of Baghdad resulting in at least 28 deaths and dozens wounded.
The attack occurred in the busy Bab al-Sharqi area in central Baghdad.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack thus far, but, Iraqi officials believe it is the work of the Islamic State group.
The bombings occurred just a few days after the Iraqi government agreed to hold early elections in October. With the economy in a shambles, tens of thousands of protesters took to the streets last year to demand political change and an end to corruption.
