UK and EU Reach Brexit Trade Deal
On Thursday, with just days to spare before the deadline, the United Kingdom and the European Union have finally agreed to a post-Brexit trade agreement.
This averts the much feared "no deal" scenario which would have caused an enormous disruption to importation and exportation and potentially thrown the UK economy into chaos.
In a statement from Downing Street, they said, "Deal is done. Everything that the British public was promised during the 2016 referendum and in the general election last year is delivered by this deal."
Leaders of the European Union, the European Parliament and the United Kingdom government will all need to approve the agreement for it to be fully ratified, but the news that the negotiations have been finalized comes as a great relief to many after months of deadlock.
