UK Grants Emergency Use Authorization for Pfizer’s COVID Vaccine
On Wednesday, the United Kingdom became the first Western nation to grant emergency use authorization for Pfizer and BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine.
The emergency use authorization means the vaccine could start being distributed in limited numbers within a few days.
The UK has ordered 40 million doses of the two-shot vaccine, which would be enough to vaccinate 20 million people. The government says they hope to receive 10 million doses before the end of the year.
