US Jobs Report - 638,000 Jobs Added in October

What Happened:

• The US economy added 638,000 million jobs in October and unemployment fell to 6.9%, down from 7.9% in September.

• The 1% drop in joblessness surprised analysts who had expected about a 0.2% drop. They hope this means that the long-term effects of the pandemic on the economy might not be as bad as predicted.

• The nation remains down about 10 million jobs since the start of the Coronavirus pandemic.
