US Jobs Report - 661,000 Jobs Added in September
The US economy added 661,000 million jobs in September and unemployment fell to 7.9%, down from 8.4% in August.
This is the final jobs report before next month's Presidential election.
This is the highest unemployment rate going into a presidential election since the government started tracking the monthly rate in 1948.
With the Coronavirus pandemic, Trump has the most job losses on record during the first 44 months of his presidency (-3.9 million), dating back to 1939. Should he lose the election in November, he would become the first president on record (dating back to Harry Truman) to leave the White House with fewer jobs than when he started.
