US Jobs Report - Only 266,000 Jobs Added in April

What Happened:
According to the Labor Department, the US economy added only 266,000 jobs in April, far less than the 1 million jobs economists projected.
Unemployment also rose slightly from 6% in March to 6.1% in April.
Economists are still optimistic that the reopening of the economy, the easing of safety restrictions and the vaccine rollout will help bolster the economy and say that the drop in jobless claims shows that the economy is still heading in the right direction.
Despite some of the positive trends, the lower than expected jobs report shows that some businesses are struggling to find enough workers, particularly for entry level positions.
