US Rejoins the Paris Climate Accord
On Friday, the US officially rejoined the Paris Climate Accord to limit global warming.
On his first day in office, President Biden signed an executive order to begin a 30-day process to reenter the global agreement.
Former president Trump exited the agreement late last year, making the US the only country to exit the accord.
By rejoining, the Biden administration is indicating a reversal of the climate policies of the last four years.
Said Secretary of State, Tony Blinken, it is "a good day in our fight against the climate crisis", the US will "waste no time in engaging our partners around the world to build our global resilience."
