US Warns Russia to Stay Away from Conflict in Ukraine
What Happened:
On Thursday, the Kremlin expressed concern over the escalation of the separatist conflict in the Ukraine.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to stay away from the conflict and said “if Russia decides to pursue confrontation, there will be serious consequences.”
Several Ukrainian and Western officials have been concerned over a Russian troop buildup near Ukraine, believing that Russia may be planning to involve itself in the conflict.
Russia says that it has no intentions of involving itself in the conflict and says these are claims created by Ukraine and its Western supporters.
