VP Pence Rejects Request to Invoke 25th Amendment and Remove Trump
On Tuesday, Vice President Pence rejected the request from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D) to invoke the 25th amendment and remove Trump from office.
In a letter to Pelosi released on Tuesday night, the Vice President said "I do not believe such a course of action is in the best interest of our Nation or consistent with the Constitution."
Pence continued, "Last week, I did not yield to pressure to exert beyond my constitutional authority to determine the outcome of the election, and I will not now yield to efforts in the House of Representatives to play political games at a time so serious in the life of our nation."
The House is pursuing the impeachment of Trump for "incitement of insurrection" and introduced an article of impeachment on Monday. The House is expected to vote on the article on Wednesday.
