West Front of Capitol Being Evacuated Because of Security Threat - UPDATED

What's Happening:

• Parts of the Capitol are being evacuated because of a security threat. Participants in Biden's inauguration rehearsal were evacuated on the West Front of the Capitol.

• An emergency message was relayed to the staff of the US Capitol, "All buildings within the Capitol Complex: External security threat, no entry or exit is permitted, stay away from exterior windows, doors. If outside, seek cover."

UPDATE: Security threat was prompted by a fire near the US Capitol. The fire has now been extinguished and Capitol Police say "There are currently no fires on or within the Capitol campus."
