White House Drops Trump Order Targeting TikTok and WeChat
Updated: Jun 10
On Wednesday, the White House dropped Trump-era executive orders aimed at banning popular apps TikTok and WeChat.
The White House says it will conduct its own review to identify if these Chinese owned apps present any national security risks.
In a new executive order, the Commerce Department is instructed to analyze the transactions of apps that are manufactured or developed by China and evaluate if there are any connections to Chinese intelligence agencies or the Chinese military.
