WHO Says "Intermediary Species" Likely Link to Covid-19 in Humans
On Monday, the World Health Organization announced the two most likely scenarios that caused the transmission of Covid-19 to humans.
Said WHO expert Peter Ben Embarek, "Our initial findings suggest that the introduction through an intermediary host species is the most likely pathway."
Another possibility the WHO mentioned is transmission through the trade of frozen products.
The WHO says that the chance of a laboratory-related incident being the source of transmission, a theory that has been floated because of the location of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, is "extremely unlikely."
