Wife of Drug Kingpin “El Chapo” Arrested

What Happened:

On Monday, the wife of drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman was arrested in the US and charged with helping Guzman run his multi-billion dollar Sinaloa cartel and with helping him escape a Mexican prison in 2015.
According to the Department of Justice, Emma Aispuro, a 31-year-old former beauty queen, will face international drug trafficking charges and is expected to appear before federal court on Tuesday.
Guzman has been serving a life sentence in the United States since 2017, after he was extradited from Mexico.
